Knot Knitting *Har har*
OK, so I actually HAVE been knitting, a lot, which is why I'm not online! I finished the first of THE Socks, and am on the heel of the second, I finished a baby sweater, and I finished my crazy socks. I have pics on my Ravelry, and Maybe I'll get around to putting them here as well. LOL
Life has been treating me fairly I guess, I'm happy for the most part. We had to have one of our dogs put down, old age was not nice to him. That was sad.
I got this goofy knitmeter thing on here, and maybe I'll actually remember to update it every once in a while, but I doubt it!
OK, back to my knitting,
Blessed Be

I deleted your music
You know what, I hope you never read this Dyan, because that would mean you were back to your stalkerish ways, and I like you better not caring if I'm alive or dead. But on the odd chance that you do, I wanted you to know, I'm not sitting here crying because you left me, I'm not wishing you would talk to me, I've come to understand that you NEVER loved me the way I still (unfortunately) love you, because it would be impossible for you to treat someone you love the way you have treated me. So, I just got done deleting all your crap out of my computer. All your stupid 1/5th of a cent music, and your other putrid ganster rap that I hate. It's all gone. And I feel FABULOUS. I tossed your precious magazines too, dumpster time! I'm thinking about burning a couple of jerseys you left here, a few hundred dollars up in smoke, that would be funny.
I hope someday it dawns on you what YOU did. Because I'd have let you walk all over me for the rest of my life. Hell, I was going to MARRY you! How stupid would THAT have been?!?!?!?! Thank you so much for not going through with that!
Goodbye,
Sarah

Lace Embrace
With sticks and string
I can magically bring
the softest lace to life.
I can hide all my fears
and wipe away my tears
with wool, cashmere, and cotton.
It's a way to self sooth
the yarn feels so smooth
I can pretend I'm not insecure.
I just sit here and knit
and chomp at the bit
begging the phone, please ring.
I've done the repeats
a cast off completes
but lace isn't the embrace I desire.

Animal Abuse!!! LOL
We decorated the tree on the 1st, and I was feeling kind of festive, or, maybe it was abusive, that's the household pets' belief! Take a look....
All I want for Christmas is a Speedle-Bug!

"MOTHER!!! Leave me alone!", says Callie.

I am SO going to vomit in your shoe for this!

Dane the Drag Queen dog!

Pooka is not impressed with my shenanigans one bit.

Even the turtles aren't immune to my torture.

Blessed be,
Sarah

Check it OUT!
Well, you saw what the floor looked like a couple of hours ago, take a look at what we just did!

Do you see what we are about to do?

That's right, we just put in the last piece that won't need to be sawed up the length! Take a look at how nice it looks!

Yes, I am proud of myself actually! Now I have a lot more to do, but that's all for the moment, one room at a time people! LOL

Latest project - no yarn, this time... POWER TOOLS!!!
I have been on an anti-carpet fit lately, mainly because my house was carpetted in all white, I say WAS, it is no longer! I started in my daughter's room, we have ripped up the carpet and started laying hardwood look laminate in the downstairs, and ripping up the carpet and refinishing the hardwood upstairs. Take a look at the munchkin's room!

This is the floor, half done. Well, back to my saw!
Blessed Be!

Carla's Birthday Scarf
I finished Carla's pink scarf in time for her birthday. Sometimes I impress even myself. It turned out beautiful.

This is the end, with the intertwined diamonds. There are two sets of diamonds on each end, and a twisted rib throughout. It is my own version of the Connections Scarf from Knitting Daily. I used the most wonderful, soft wool I could find, and talk about love, I even was seen knitting pink in public for her! LOL Carla is a wonderful friend, even on top of being my boss! LOL
It seems like I have no knitting time anymore, but it seems like I just have no time lately. For anything! LOL
Catch you all later,
Blessed Be,

Look what I just got!
I just took this picture in my backyard! Isn't he beautiful!

I was just amazed when I got this picture! And he looked right at me, too! Then I got to watch him take off and fly over the backyard, I was only a few yards from him when I took the picture, then he took off.
On a knitting note, I took a break from all my other projects for a little while so I could make a going away gift for my manager, Erica, who was transferred to another store recently. We're going to miss her, but Georgette, our new manager seems pretty cool. I have to get the picture of Erica's scarf up soon.
Later,
Sarah

Knitting at the Pride Rally!
Yestersay the kids, D, and I went to the Pride march/rally in Erie. We marched through downtown Erie, from the Zone to a park, and the rally was at the park. There was a great show, with some amazing performers, as well as speakers. All in all it was an awesome day, well worth going over 24 hours without sleep for! LOL I work nights now, so I came home from work and knitted while the rest of the house kept on sleeping, then woke everybody up to go.
I had a ball, and even though D and I are not a couple anymore, it still meant a lot to me to take her to her first pride event. We got there early, helped with the float, even the kids were up to the challenge! Little Sean was using the helium tank and blowing up balloons for the marchers to carry. He was just to cute!

Here is J helping on the float!

And here is Aj, Sean, and Chey (far right-with my rainbow knitting bag!), on the float during the march.

D marching.
Anyway, on to the knitting content.......
I took my knitting with me, of course. And at the rally I sat at a picnic table knitting away on THE socks (explained soon) and watching the show. My best friend, Tam, was there, she came all the way from Clarion with some other friends, and she was picking on me about my knitting. Which she enjoys doing.
OK, THE Socks! I found this yarn.....

way back in March of 05. I fell instantly insanely in love. The problem, I had to find THE right pattern for it. Not just any old thing would do, it had to be perfect, to show off the colors just right. Well, after untold hours searching since then.... I found it! Kew socks from Knitty! I knew it as soon as I found it, and just couldn't wait to cast on! So I didn't, they were on needles almost immediately! The first one is about halfway down the foot already, and I hope to be casting on the second soon! I am such a weirdo, I LOVE to knit lace, absolutely LOVE it, but I'm not really into actually having it when I get done. My mom usually claims whatever I do lacewise, being a bit more of a femme than I can deal with most of the time, and Chey is quite the girly girl too, so as she gets older it's easier to find a home for lacey frilly stuff I just HAD to knit. But when it comes to my feet, lace, color, the more outrageous the better! I love socks that make people go "Huh? Why would you put that on your feet?" LOL Life is to short to wear boring socks!

Surgery
I am now 2 weeks post op, I spent the last couple of weeks before surgery a total wreck. I have been getting back into my knitting since the surgery, I've been working on a shawl from Victorian Lace Today, which I recently purchased. It is amazing, although I have learned that knitting complicated things when you are in pain can be a bad idea. There are a few mistakes that are easily spotted if you look for them. I'll get some pics posted soon.
I'm using a black sock yarn I got on Ebay, and a really cool sparkley yarn that I found at this great shop in Pittsburgh that I found on one of my trips down to the Dr. recently. Knit One is the shop, I just LOVED it!!!
Blessed Be all

Wow
Alcohol induced blogging, I would not recommend trying it yourself. Forgive that last post, I was slightly tipsy and answering my ex's poem Too, about our relationship.
On a knitting note, I am on the ribbing of the blue socks! YEAH! Then I have a few other things to get done before I pat myself on the back. I swear I get more knitting done at work than at home. Of course when I am at home I am usually with the munchkins. We set up the pool yesterday, an 18 ft, 4 ft deep pool is empty in the middle of our backyard, what fun!
While we were putting it up we got to see the hot air balloons go over. The Thurston Classic is this weekend here in Meadville, and the balloons go right over our house! That was cool.
See you later,
Dragonsong
